Lessons from Mom


What have you learned from your mom? Here’s a few from me, and a chanting post about what Joanna Goddard has learned.

*don’t say hate unless its something really bad
*deep breathing can fix all your problems
*Never bake anything at the time or temperature directed, because “every oven is different”.
*use lots of ucerine and Vaseline on your skin and lips
*drink lots of tea
*she’s taught me how to eat healthy
*she’s taught me its not all about been skinny, or even thin or slim
*family is where it’s at
*always pee when you get the chance!
*tell the people close to you that you love them, once, twice, even three times a day, and hug them even more.

Children Should Be Allowed To Get Bored

I found this quote extremely intriguing. Children needing to be bored. (Click the link to see the original post via Swissmiss.) To dream, imagine and observe the world around them. I really do believe media has begun to have too much of an influence on our lives.

Meditation Nation

Over on A Cup Of Jo, the weekly challenge last week was to meditate for 10 minutes a day. I’ve been meaning to post about this, so why not just do it now.

I’ve had two instances this month where I meditated. 1.) Prom 2.) My first date. I was VERY anxious for both I these, with a knot in my stomach and a pounding heart a few hours before. So I say myself down and meditated. I breathed deeply, told myself it was all going to work put just fine, prayed a little, and . . .

It totally worked! I was fine afterwards. It might sound like an exaggeration, but I was so relaxed afterwards. It was like magic!

Do you meditate? If you don’t I’m encouraging you to try it the next time you’re stressed!

Social Media Detox


This weekend, I conformed. I got a twitter. I’m undecided about whether or not I like it, but we’ll see. As I was making it my mom said she didn’t want this to make my usage of my phone go up, so I got to thinking about a social media detox. In this list, I have 7 accounts, and 8 sites I visit daily…that’s a LOT! So I’ve decided to 1.) unsubscribe from all youtube channels I followed, since none of them add value to my life in any way, 2.) take pinterest off my phone, since it is the biggest cause of procrastination for me, 3.) delete my stumble upon account, and 4.) downsize my bookmarked list of blogs I read.

Hopefully this gets you thinking about your technology uses, and ways you can cut back. I hope this helps me and others as well!

Life Lately


So life has been pretty good to me lately. I went to prom, did a lot of baking and retail therapy, and even went on a date! Whaaaaa? Besides all I this, I’ve been living in the middle of a manhunt. It felt like a movie this entire week, having a criminal at large, not 20 miles from me! I’m glad it’s over, and maybe now we can get some answers. Have a peaceful, relaxing weekend after such a hectic week!








So for the past couple of months I’ve been totally into blogilates. She’s a woman on youtube named Cassey Ho, who makes Pilates videos that are fun and challenging that you can do right from your house! She’s so bubbly and cute, it’s easy to want to keep exercising. If your looking for motivation, she’s your girl!
