Yo We Got a New Blog

If you haven’t yet I would really appreciate you following my new blog, The Quiet Crew
(thequietcrew.wordpress.com) I will not be posting here anymore so if you’d like to follow along, get to it!!

Is it Fall Yet?

Man oh man, am I ready for fall or what?! Clothing in the fall is so much easier to style, for me at least. Layering is my all time favorite thing to do with my clothes, and fall is really the primetime to do so. Because in the winter, layering is more of a survival technique! Here’s the first of the series of fall trends I’m super excited about for the fall:

1. This is my new favorite thing: polka dot socks and ankle boots. Any patterned sock, or sock for that matter, because I just love them!

2. These little rain boot ankle booties would be great to brighten a rainy fall day.

3. Simple black ankle boots that can go with anything.

4. A nice array of boots and socks to pull inspiration from.

I hope you’re all as excited about fall as I am!

Call Me Bob

I’ve had a strong urge to cut my hair into a long bob. But not one that’s all layered and pretty. I want something slightly more blunt and edgy. Much like these pictures. I have thick hair so when it gets long, it gets heavy … and gross. If anyone knew e freshman year: I’m sorry. But you live and you learn! I think it’s time for a good haircut before senior year. A new year, new hair. It just seems like the right time.

Marshmallow Filling

I just want to quickly share a recipe I made today. It’s a marshmallow cream filling. My sister put it in between cookies to bring to a party. I ha an idea to put it on a chocolate cake, with graham crackers and Hershey chocolate as a s’mores cake! Here’s the recipe if you want to try it:

Beat 1/2 cup of butter (softened) on medium speed until creamy. Gradually beat in 1 cup of powdered sugar until combined. Then add a cup of marshmallow cream (Fluff) and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.

Enjoy!! (Image via Deliciously Organic)

Weekend Living

I am a firm believer that life sprouts from the weekend. It’s where all the fun happens. Everybody wants to be with the weekend; he’s the cool kid in school.

Here’s what happened on my weekend:

I saw Carly Simon perform with Taylor Swift, and saw a rainbow. My sister made a sick Vineyard Vines bracelet, and I ate at the Shake Shack. Best burger ever!

Back in the Saddle

So I’ve missed/haven’t really missed blogging. But nonetheless I am back and ready for more posts. There will be definitely less posts regularly, but I’ll still be posting at least once a week, or just when I have something to share! Here’s what I’ve been up to lately…Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.18.18 PM Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.18.00 PM Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.17.19 PM Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.17.07 PM Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.16.36 PM Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.16.16 PM Screen Shot 2013-07-20 at 11.15.57 PM

Taking a Hiatus

I’ve decided to take a break from blogging for at least this summer. Things re about to get VERY crazy in my life, and my blog is just another distraction for me. So peace out blog life, it was nice knowing you. Maybe we’ll see each other soon? (Image found here.)

Vegan “Cookie Dough”

I don’t know how many of you are vegans out there, but even if you aren’t, like me, this recipe is one you can definitely enjoy! It’s taking cashews and making them into a pseudo cookie dough. Although it’s not that much healthier for you, it’s still natural, and way better than eating raw cookie dough! Get it HERE.

My baking notes: the chocolate dip part calls for coconut oil, but I didn’t have that on hand. I searched around online for a substitute, and found either canola, vegetable, or olive oil. I used olive oil….big mistake. It leaves a greasy feeling and a burning sensation in your mouth. I would opt for canola oil. Other than that, this re pie is very straight forward. ENJOY!
